As per the governments direction we advise our community that Auckland is moving to COVID-19 alert level 2 and the rest of the country to Alert Level 1 from 11:59pm tonight.
Auckland
Alert Level 2 gives Auckland a return back to more formal sports training. Respecting the need for good contact tracing, physical distancing, groups of 100, sanitisation and hygiene measures. We look forward to a resumption of club activity and indeed the re-opening of the National High Performance Centre at Vector Wero Whitewater Park.
This link provides detailed guidance for canoe slalom training, club activity and CSNZ activity at Vector Wero.
Rest of NZ
Under Alert Level 1 the disease is contained in New Zealand, but COVID-19 is uncontrolled overseas and there is isolated household transmission occurring. The main controls under Alert Level 1 are border restrictions and managed isolation or quarantine for people entering the country. Sport, active recreation and play under Alert Level 1 looks like much like it did pre-COVID-19, with border restrictions.
