Butcher claims second World Cup medal

Finn Butcher claims his best World Cup results ever by claiming his second medal in Kayak Cross.  The men's event was full of carnage and faults with both Joe Clarke and Felix Oschmautz penalised giving Butcher and Tine Kancler a passage to the semi-final.

At the start of the men's final Mathurin Madore looked to be out of the race when he accidentally flipped his kayak but kept his composure, and capitalised on mistakes to take the lead in the second half of the race. Butcher ensured he stayed in the mix being able to cross the line in bronze position after Switzerland’s Dimitri Marx took silver.

In the women's event Luuka Jones was dominant again through the head-to-head racing but had a tough fight in the final getting squeezed at the start and two entanglements with USA's Evy Liebfarth who went on to pip Jones for the Bronze.
