Canoe Slalom High Performance athlete Finn Butcher clinched a New Zealand history making 4th place at World Cup 5 in Pau, France.

In a field of top K1 male athletes Butcher put down a penalty free 98.69s run being only 0.05s away from clinching the Bronze and 0.75s from Gold.  It was doubtful he may even race heading into official training as he had been unwell the previous week with Covid19.
